We are a charitable Foundation completely independent of Benedictine and Saint Gertrude, which supports the student-athletes at Benedictine and Saint Gertrude financially with tuition assistance through each award recipient’s four years of high school. We strive to make both Benedictine and Saint Gertrude affordable to all eligible student-athletes and to perpetuate the continued academic and athletic excellence of both schools. We also support the overall academic and athletic success at both schools. We operate, manage, and fundraise independently and make all financial and investment decisions independent from Benedictine and Saint Gertrude.
The Foundation shall be a perpetual and an independent organization and, in keeping with its mission of maintaining perpetual support to the student-athletes, the Foundation shall disburse approximately five percent (5%) of its principal annually directly toward the tuition costs of students-athletes and related expenses at both high schools. The Foundation also shall balance its support equally between the students-athletes from both Saint Gertrude High School and Benedictine College Prep. The Foundation has established a goal of raising Fifteen Million Dollars to further its mission of providing perpetual support for the current and future student-athletes.

Our Story
The Netherwood-Gibrall Foundation was created by W. Barry Gibrall, ’64, and Brenda Netherwood Gibrall, ’61, both long-term supporters of Benedictine and Saint Gertrude, with their focus on establishing a perpetual foundation existing independently and solely to support student-athletes so that they can afford, attend and excel throughout their four years of high school.
